we have been going to Bannisters in Mollymook for years, even BC {before children}, which is why I’m so excited to introduce you to the new Bannisters Port Stephens…

about Bannisters Port Stephens

Situated right on the blue water paradise of Port Stephens, with individually designed bay fronting and forest facing rooms, suites and penthouses, this is the perfect weekend-away or mini-break spot for couples, families and their puppies. Yes, they are dog-friendly!!!

Scroll down for a squizz to see why we love it…

WHY WE LOVED IT: We’ve been huge fans of Bannisters for years, {before children} and the new Port Stephen’s addition to the boutique accommodation’s family didn’t disappoint. On a much larger scale, the new 80 room Bannisters feels like a big sister to Mollymook, and despite being three times the size, it still maintains it’s friendly and familiar vibe. The pool area has the same lazy-day lounging style, and the by-the-pool menu is amazing. Rooms are roomy, bedlinen is super-crisp cotton and the bathrooms are spacious. The buffet breakfasts leave you spoilt for choice, and the views are spectacular. Rick’s restaurant has a bigger, more contemporary feel than Mollymook so we booked a booth for our date night which was just perfect.

the accommodation / rooms

OCEAN DECK ROOMS: Available across four levels, the Ocean Deck room is a 30 sqm space combining panoramic ocean vistas with a private balcony outlook. All rooms feature a king-size bed with luxury linen which can be split to create twin share, to ensure a restful stay.

LUXURY SUITES: The stylish Luxury suites are 50 sqm with separate bedroom and living areas with spacious balconies designed to set the scene for panoramic ocean views. The four luxury suites combine the best of both worlds with peaceful treetop outlooks as well as endless blue vistas. All rooms feature a king-size bed with luxury linen to and a third guest can be accommodated for an added cost per night.

bars & dining

With a delicious range of fused Mediterranean and modern Australian dishes, The Terrace is the perfect way to kick back and relax where the sun rises and sets over the glittering bay. Sun lounge service and casual dining by the pool is the Terrace Bar vibe and the friendly front-of-house team is on hand to blend a killer cocktail and serve up an awesome Rick Stein inspired menu.

The Terrace also has an exclusive guest-only garden area for our hotel guests as well as indoor and outdoor dining options. The bar is open from 12 pm to all guests.

Following the success of his south coast, Mollymook location, Rick Stein’s signature restaurant has arrived in Port Stephens. Located within a 98,000-hectare marine park and inspired by the unique aquaculture of the region, this is the finest locally sourced seafood, simply prepared.

Head chef, Mitchell Turner, leads the dynamic team that creates delicious dishes using locally sourced seafood and ingredients. Perfect for a special date night, the seafood is insane – or even if you’re just passing through Port Stephens.
