Waterview Wombarra offers everything we love about a weekend away: breathtaking views, peaceful surroundings, cosy corners to curl up in and the rare opportunity to completely switch off. There are no crowds, no schedules and no pressure to do anything other than slow down and enjoy listening and looking at the sea.
The view is impossible to ignore. From sunrise to sunset, the ocean becomes the centrepiece of your stay. The light changes throughout the day, the waves crash against the headland and the landscape takes on a different character with every passing hour.
Whether you’re enjoying your morning coffee on the deck, reading a book in the afternoon or winding down with a glass of wine as the sun begins to set, the views are next-level spectacular.
From the moment you arrive, you immediately feel warm, welcomed and relaxed. Everywhere you look, there are little nods to nature, alongside carefully chosen mementoes and meaningful pieces collected over time. Natural textures, coastal colours and lovingly curated details make the house feel stylish, comfortable and wonderfully lived in.
Long lunches stretch into the afternoon, books are finally finished and conversations continue well into the evening. Before long, it feels less like a place you’re staying and more like a home away from home.
The garden stretches all the way down towards the ocean, while two large tables, one on the deck and another in its own tucked-away spot, overlook the water. There are so many places to enjoy breakfast, long lunches, aperitivo hour and dinners that roll into the evening. Between the sound of the waves and the ever-changing view, I have no doubt this will quickly become one of your favourite places to stay. It certainly was for us.
The king-size bed was one of the most comfortable we’ve ever slept in, and the sheets and pillows were absolute perfection. {Pillows are always a deal breaker with me!}
Falling asleep to the sound of the ocean made it almost impossible not to drift into a deep sleep. And waking up in the morning, hearing the waves in the distance and knowing there was nowhere we needed to be made it all the more special.

One of the things we loved most about staying here was discovering the charm of Wombarra itself. Tucked between Scarborough and Coledale, this beautiful seaside village is one of the South Coast’s best-kept secrets. With its beaches, spectacular coastal walks and relaxed vibe, it’s the perfect place to spend a few days exploring at your own pace. We also discovered Thirroul which is just a short drive away and is well worth a visit for its cafés, restaurants and laid-back coastal vibe.
