wonder woman: EILISH PARSONS

Co-founder, design thinker, unapologetic human – Eilish Parsons is the woman reimagining what assistive technology can look and feel like. As the co-founder of Ennova Design, she is building a world where needing support never means losing your sense of self. She is seriously one of our fave people! Read on to find out more about Eilish as she answers our questions…

Eilish’s path to Ennova started not in a boardroom, but in a moment of personal grief and frustration. Caring for loved ones with late-stage cancer who needed mobility aids, she witnessed firsthand how deeply clinical, clunky devices affected their sense of self and the feel of their home. Her husband Sam, an Occupational Therapist, kept hearing the same thing from his community – these devices worked, but they made people feel like a patient in their own home.

So Eilish and Sam started asking why good design and clinical integrity couldn’t coexist. That question became the foundation of Ennova Design, and the blueprint for their debut product: the Oasis Chair. A shower chair that provides clinical-grade support while treating the user as a human being – with personality, dignity, and a home worth loving.

Ennova was built on a simple but radical belief: assistive technology should function beautifully, feel considered, and belong in your space. Not cold. Not clinical. Not an afterthought.

Here’s Eilish, in her own words, answering our bellamumma q’s…

1. You, in three words?
Fiercely driven and (unapologetically) direct.

2. What drives your inspiration?
The thought that we can do better. Mobility aids – especially shower chairs – have functioned for decades with little humanity in their design and no consideration for how they make people feel. I am inspired by building things that tangibly improve people’s lives. Not just talking about impact, but actually creating it.

3. Your job title?
Co-founder of Ennova Design.

4. Your very first job?
I worked at the local cinema. I genuinely believe everyone should work in frontline F&B or customer service at some point – it builds character. So much respect for anyone in the service industry.

5. Childhood dream job?
I never had a specific dream job, but I always knew I wanted to do something creative.

6. The backstory of your business?
Ennova started with disbelief and frustration. My husband Sam kept hearing the same feedback from his OT community – bathroom mobility aids were functional but clunky, uncomfortable, and deeply clinical. They supported physical needs but ignored emotional ones. Many people would rather go without support than bring that feeling into their home. We started asking why good design and clinical integrity couldn’t coexist. That question became the design blueprint for the Oasis Chair – a shower chair that provides clinical-grade support while still treating the user as a human with a personality and identity.

7. Take us through a typical day.
I reluctantly rise early – I am definitely not a morning person – percolate an espresso and head to the gym for weights and strength work. My work days are currently focused on manufacturing meetings, safety and compliance documentation, and all things brand and marketing. Late afternoons often involve walking to the beach with Sam to swim in the waves. He would say this is body surfing. I think the more accurate term is playing mermaids. Evenings: a TV show, magnesium, a 20-minute shakti mat, and meditation.

8. What brightens your day?
My husband Sam brightens my day, every single day. Also being surrounded by trees, greenery, and swimming in the ocean.

9. Three must-haves in your life?
Good food, good wine, and good company – all at the same time.

10. Best life advice you’ve got?
There is real power in knowing yourself and being unapologetically you. Fuck the patriarchy.

11. Coffee or tea?
Coffee.
12. Favourite book?
It’s a tie between I Am Pilgrim, A Little Life, and Where the Crawdads Sing.

13. Last movie you watched?
Steve. Equally brutal and beautiful.

14. Interior design style?
Mid-century modern meets maximalist.

15. Favourite room in your house?
Our lounge room – it has the comfiest green couch for reading and a wood fireplace for keeping warm in winter.

16. Best way to spend a Sunday?
Coffee and a homemade egg, avocado, and pickle breakfast. The ocean, definitely. Playing in the veggie garden, most likely. And something exciting for dinner – we’ve recently been experimenting with a fermented garlic and honey, rocket, and parm woodfired pizza.

17. Favourite hobby?
Recently it’s been the veggie garden, surfing (in gentle waves only), and – surprisingly – knitting.

18. Favourite TV show?
The Pitt. I am so impressed by how they’ve addressed nearly every pressing societal issue in today’s world.

19. Biggest fear?
The process before death. The sadness, the struggle to not surrender without a fight, the mourning with your loved ones – and knowing the darkest part of their mourning isn’t over yet. I’ve been on the looking-glass side of that process, and it’s unbearably heavy.

20. Favourite colour?
Green and burnt orange. You can definitely see the colour influence in my furniture choices.

21. Favourite animal?
Cats – specifically our cats Ziggy and Zoomy.

22. Proudest accomplishment?
Staying committed to being a good person who cares about people and wants to make a difference.
