WHY WE LOVE IT
Barranca openly invites their guests to enjoy the seclusion of our family farm in total luxury. They aim for every stay to be relaxing and replenishing, and encourage guests to take in the natural wild beauty and soothing landscapes that can only be experienced at barranca. The barranca team embraces each guest as an individual and cater for their bespoke needs. Everything their guests need for their stay has been thought of, and if it hasn’t, they want to know. Barranca want their guests to enjoy barranca as much as they do.
ACCOMMODATION
Designed by John and Sky Grove of Grove Architects, a father-and-daughter team who own a property next to barranca, there’s a lovely feeling of being grounded in place: it’s country but in a very crafted way.
Ferndale and Willow are our architecturally designed luxury 4-bedroom, 2 bathroom villas that accommodates up to 8 guests each, while Jacaranda and Banksia are exquisitely appointed 2 bedroom + 2 bathroom villas that both sleeps up to 4 guests.
Using a framework of off-grid, farmhouse architecture, the four villas are positioned north to capture the all-day sunlight through the floor-to-ceiling windows and all have breathtaking views of the escarpment. All villas also have a magical and completely private setting with outdoor showers, fire pits and lounging areas making them perfect for relaxing and unwinding.
Complete with rainwater collection and solar power, barranca takes shape as luxury eco-escape. Built using up-cycled native Australian timbers and heritage sandstone in the housings, the luxury villa’s blend seamlessly into the verdant native surrounds overlooking the regions dramatic amber-hued escarpment. Fresh water is supplied throughout the farm from springs high in the mountains.
Each villa’s kitchen is fitted with Smeg appliances and Greg Natale soft furnishings compliment a neutral palette of MCM House furniture pieces. Plant-based Leif products are the official amenities partner and a selection of eggs, breads, fresh seasonal produce and meats and poultry by local Terrewah Farm is provided in the kitchen, alongside a selection of T2 tea and a nespresso coffee machine. Luxury appointed towels and linen is also supplied.

Barranca has experiences from relaxed to adventurous. There’s something for everyone whether you’re wanting to discover or disconnect, relax or recharge. They have exclusive on-property experiences if you don’t want to leave the luxury of the barranca, or a vast range of hand-picked activities in Kangaroo Valley and the surrounds. There’s even a concierge service to curate your perfect itinerary.

Guests are also encouraged to participate in mindful ‘forest bathing’ – a nature-based therapy that connects the senses with fresh air, the soundtrack of nature, and a balmy rainforest surrounding – or experience ‘wild swimming’ at the nearby creek. To help you completely disconnect and completely relax, guests can also book our qualified spa therapists who specialise in massage and facials for both men and women. Each treatment will be tailored perfectly to you and delivered through a tranquil sensory journey.
Barranca has also partnered with @inessenceaus to ensure you have the best nights sleep. To compliment their body-supporting beds, crisp sheets and cloud-like pillows in all their villas, they also have In Essence 360 Diffusers and Sleep Essential Oil Blends in our bedrooms to create a ‘sleep sanctuary’ to help your drift off into a restoring sleep.
