bespoke accommodation that’s child, dog and horse-friendly and set on the picturesque equine farm, providing the ultimate weekend getaway to escape to the country and unwind in nature.
We stayed for two nights, and absolutely loved it. Here’s why…

Just 90 minutes’ drive from Sydney and perfectly positioned with their own spectacular view overlooking the scenic Blue Mountains, five self-contained cabins, set on 90 acres of white-fenced green paddocks, have been carefully designed to capture the intimacy of country charm with contemporary touches to make you feel at home.

Eden Farm Escape by Eden Equine has been a shared labour of love by the creative {and so lovely} duo behind The Grumpy Baker, Michael Cthurmer and Deborah Goodman. {Deb and I clicked immediately!} Initially purchasing the property in 2016 as their family weekend home, Michael and Deborah have spent the last two years transforming the property into luxury farm-stay accommodation and a working equine-assisted therapy farm, with the aim of bettering the lives of people and particularly children by working with horses and a specialised equine psychotherapist in a safe and supportive environment. The result is stunning.

the accommodation

Eden Farm Escape by Eden Equine has five self-contained bespoke cabins set on 90 acres of white fenced green paddocks. Backing onto the World Heritage Blue Mountains National Park with walking and riding trails yet only 90 minutes from the CBD. They are dog, horse and child-friendly.

Each of the cabins come fully equipped with:
Polished concrete or wooden floors
Bespoke kitchens featuring black cabinetry
Stainless steel benchtops
Nespresso Coffee Machines
Gas cooking and Microwave
Foxtel / TV
Ceiling Fans

We absolutely loved it… the attention to detail was amazing. Everything you want at home, but in the country. The sheets, the pillows, the fully equipped kitchen … perfect. And the fact that it’s pet-friendly and that we could take Jake {The Wonderdog} made it the BEST family getaway.

the horses

Eden Equine currently stands twelve horses including those bred specifically for equine-therapy, ponies and several agisted stallions, with a riding arena, barns, a dam and stables. There are three miniature donkeys, Sir Russell an RSPCA rescue pig, a smattering of alpacas, cows and sheep and three pet goats. With nature’s pleasures located at your doorstep and boarded by the World Heritage Listed Blue Mountains National Park, guests can revel in having direct access to walking trails and horse-riding.

the activities on-site

There are a variety of things to do when you stay at Eden {apart from reading with a good glass of red sitting in front of the fire} including:
• A walk or drive around the 90 – acre property
• Visiting and feeding animals with Bernadette, the Equine Manager
• Go on a boat across the dam
• Swimming in the dam

+ the local’s guide to Bilpin

The cabins at Eden Farm Escape are designed to be self-contained so you have the freedom to use the fully functional kitchen or communal BBQ, or explore an array of restaurants, shops and local attractions within a 10-15-minute drive of the property.

Some of these local attractions include:
• Lochiel House Historic Restaurant – A restaurant open for breakfast, lunch & dinner, famous for their scones.

• Mount Tomah Botanical Gardens – Free guided walking tours beginning at 11:30 AM each day, beautiful gardens and featuring The Potager Café for Breakfast and Lunch http://potagermounttomah.com.au/

• There is a great deli, Deli LaNa which is the perfect stop off to buy cheeses, crackers, and pastries.

• The local butcher in Kurrajong (next door to the deli) sells their award-winning sausages – san choy bow, duck and orange, lamb with feta and mint.

• The local bottle shop is a few doors down and stocks a great selection of boutique wines.

• The Archibald Hotel – a great pub with meal specials and live music each weekend.
