1. SPEED UP: Fast talkers were rated as being more intelligent than those who tended to pause often or stall their thoughts with lots of ‘ums’ and ‘ahs’.
2. SPEAK UP: People whose voices were loud and clear were judged is smarter than those who mumbled.
3. AVOID SLANG: Speakers who used slang words and phrases were viewed as being less intelligent.
