How did the new collection come about?
The new collection is born in Australia, but inspired by the South of France. The designs and prints are inspired by the beautiful beaches of the Cote d’Azur. We’ve created a range we would describe as ‘elegant, sophisticated simplicity’ for a life that celebrates family and friends, holidays and beautiful rituals, for travel both near and far.

As with our previous collections, we have a continued focus on luxurious product, with exquisite cuts and super flattering contouring. Every piece is crafted from high-quality, chlorine-resistant Italian fabric, with the highest possible sun protection rating of UP50+ to block 98% of harmful UV rays.

The latest collection steps into a new realm for the brand – we’ve crafted new shapes that women have been crying out for (elegant long sleeve tops, beautiful one pieces and some very iconic new shapes).

We’ve also continued to invest time in creating bespoke print designs and creating stunning hand-illustrated artwork which is then translated into a print design for our swimsuits.

NB: Our new Springer and Surf Capsule Collection is super special.The Original Sexie Springer is ​part ‘Cat Woman’, part ‘Bond Girl’, and with super-panelling from head to toe is perfect for surfing, stand-up paddle boarding and long active days in the water.

Why did you create UNE PIECE?
I spent a lot of time in my twenties working and living in rainy London, so I escaped to the beach as much as possible. In Europe women don’t just exclusively wear bikinis – they have a ‘repertoire’ of swimwear they take on holidays – which almost always includes at least one staple one piece. It often takes them from day into night.
When I started to research the idea of a one piece brand, I saw an opportunity to create the Original Sexie Rashie – something that was both beautiful and fashionable, whilst being high-quality and UPF50+ to block 98% of the sun’s harmful UV rays. I grew up on the Sunshine Coast with a surfer Dad and a sun-conscious Mother so I guess the inspiration was also forming from a young age!

I wanted to create something women felt confident and beautiful in – and that they would feel just as fashionable as if they were wearing the latest bikini or one piece style. The Original Sexie Rashie has 28 pieces in its composition – ​most rash vests on the market have only six pieces. ​Our products are ultra-high chlorine and pilling resistant, and are crafted with the highest quality UPF50+ Italian fabrics to block 98% of UV rays. The fabric is also eco-friendly: comprised of regenerated nylon derived from recycled materials.

Why did you choose Bree for your campaign?
I’ve been a very big fan of Bree’s {@breekwarren} for a while now. We actually wanted to shoot her for our 2018 campaign but the timing just didn’t work as she was living in New York. So we were thrilled to hear she was moving home to Australia this year and leapt at the opportunity to work with her for Summer 2019.

Bree truly embodies the UNE PIECE brand – she’s a beautiful, confident and empowered woman in so many ways. She lives an energetic and active life as a surfer and model and has been chasing her dream living internationally and exploring the world. She’s also very vocal about body positivity and is a driving force for change in the Australian fashion industry. I think there’s a lot more to come from Bree. She’s very special and we’re excited to have her as the face of our Summer 19 campaign.
