We are loving Sheridan’s most iconic design for Autumn Winter 2015, the new Sabatini Collection…
Inspired by a visual idea from the gleaming white soaring sails of the Sydney Opera House, the geometric diamond pattern has been expertly woven into a double cloth matelassé in 100% cotton, creating a beautiful textural effect for your bed, your bedroom, your home…
The collection also has sentimental value, as the range is also inspired by Sheridan founder, Claudio Alcorso. Claudio, who left Italy in the 1930’s with his sights firmly set on Australian soil, established Sheridan in 1967. He had a simple, but ambitious aim: to bring inspirational textile prints into everyday life. He was inspired by remarkable beauty everywhere, and when the Sydney Opera House was built, Claudio was there – which is why the Sabatini collection is so iconic.
Sheridan Head Designer Mark Travers explains more below…
Chunky white knits on linen sheets. Organic weaves paired with cotton sateen. The art of creating the perfect white on white look in your home is about layering white hues with textural elements.
We are huge fans of this crips, clean look! Here’s the insider guide to making the look work:
Sarah Parker, Sheridan’s Senior Designer, {left} shares her styling advice for creating the perfect white on white bedroom. “There are countless ways to layer white on white.”
Here are Sarah’s tips for creating the ‘white on white’ look…
1. THE BASE: Start with crisp white sheets and a gorgeous white quilt cover and build on from there.
2. LAYER UP: Generate volume by pairing contrasting fabric weights of white together, such as a chunky knitted throw paired with a linen quilt cover.
3. ACCESSORISE: A few key accessories can make all the difference. Add warmth and depth to white by adding cushions and throws to your bed. If you have a simple white quilt cover, go for a textured cushion. Or if you have a textured or woven quilt cover, try pairing it with a sleek white cushion or pillow for contrast.
4. TONAL INTERRUPTIONS: If you’re looking for a little extra warmth, I always add flax. This softened neutral works beautifully back with white, and gives white a polished playfulness through gentle tonal interruptions in your bedroom.
