WE’RE TOTALLY LOVING THESE SPRING 2015 BEAUTY TRENDS
SO MUCH SO, WE SUGGEST YOU START RE-CREATING THEM NOW!
The good thing about so many of the hair, makeup, and nail trends on the spring 2015 runways are that they are pretty season-less. Take a peek and adding them to your beauty repertoire …
Spring 2015 Nail Trend: Baby-Soft Polish
{above pic} After seasons of bold nail art, there was a return to barely there nail polish colours, from palest pink to ballerina to chic nude. The perfect low-maintenance manicure!
Spring 2015 Makeup Trend: Perfect Plum
This rich, romantic shade was a favourite on the spring 2015 runways. At the Vera Wang show, makeup artist Lucia Pieroni was inspired by mystical wood nymphs when he brushed models’ lids with this dreamy dark purple. The beauty of purple, it works for both day and night.
Spring 2015 Hair Trend: Coming-Undone Styles
Your thrown-in, looped-under ponytail is now much chicer than you ever thought—it appeared on the runway at Creatures of the Wind. Rake dry shampoo through dry hair, pull back and secure with an elastic—leaving half of the ponytail tucked in—and go. The go-to hairdo for the weekend, yes?
Spring 2015 Nail Trend: Negative-Space Manicures
We’re loving this nail trend of the moment—graphic polish designs that let a little naked nail show through—took over the runways for spring. One of the new plays that’s easy to copy at home: the metallic side swipes. So easy and so stylish – don’t forget to finish with top coat!
Spring 2015 Hair Trend: Braids Revisited
Great news if you finally mastered the fishtail: Braids are one trend that’s not going anywhere. Stylists, led by Nick Irwin for TIGI, made three sections in back, plaited the middle one, then wrapped the other two sections around it to create these bohemian, deconstructed braids at Mara Hoffman. The hair was also secured in several spots with elastics, then pulled loose, for a segmented look.
Spring 2015 Makeup Trend: Inky Black Eyes
Blackest-black liner was a must-have on the runways, so if you don’t already own it, pick some up and get playing! Rachel Zoe’s models wore eye pencil up top only, for a retro cat-eye that is clean and chic enough for daytime.
Spring 2015 Hair Trend: Get Low (With Your Ponytail)
The low ponies at Creatures of the Wind were meant to look carelessly thrown back. This look works for virtually any hair length that’s shoulder-length plus.
Spring 2015 Hair Trend: Air-Dried Texture
This trend’s your new best friend: textured hair that looks air-dried (whether or not it actually is). At Hugo Boss, Redken creative consultant Guido first styled the models’ hair totally sleek, then misted the bottom part with water and let it air-dry to add some natural texture to the ends.
Spring 2015 Makeup Trend: Bold Red Lips
When spring’s models weren’t wearing basic lip balm, they were wearing striking shades of classic red. At Carolina Herrera, five not-yet-sold MAC reds were featured: Red, Brave Red, Make Me Gorgeous, Girl About Town, and Divaish. You can find similar shades at maccosmetics.com.
