chat with Claudine 2

Claudine Gasnier’s love of timeless style translates into her range of fashion forward baby bags, designed for stylish mothers. The idea to design and create a chic, functional and versatile bag range came about when Claudine and her husband Mark were living in Paris in 2010. After seeing a gap in the market, Claudine began the process of designing the range and her bags can now been seen on the arms of some very yummy mummies. Creating beautiful, fashion-meets-function baby bags for the stylish mother, Claudine  now she has a thriving bag company that women the world over {not just mummas} LOVE!

bellaMUMMA chatted with the v-creative Claudine at her home in Sydney’s Northern Beaches to see how she juggles work and motherhood…

How do you find the time to work for Claudine & Ash as well as being busy mums?
Being organised and having a good routine is a must for me, plus a helping hand from my husband Mark goes a long way.

What advice would give to other women about starting their own business?
There will always be competitors so just stay true to your own style and believe in it. If people like what you do the business will work.

Where would you like to see Claudine & Ash in the next 5 years?
I’m really happy with the way the business is moving right now but I think long term we would like to see our bags grow internationally.

What’s your number one family holiday destination?
I would have to say anywhere with warm weather and the ocean. You really can’t beat a seaside location in Oz when you have kids {as it’s a great way to wear them out}.

What’s your favourite bag in the collection?
Definitely the Kalani, I love how luxurious it makes you feel. Even if you have your casual mum gear on {which I have on 90% of the time} it dresses up any outfit.

What are your can’t-live-without items in your bag?
At the moment it’s Ray Ban’s; Paw Paw ointment; rice crackers; and a muesli bar for the kids.

What are your biggest influences when designing?
Every day fashion.
