Georgia’s story reads like a modern-day fairytale: leaving behind the traditional route after high school, she embarked on a solo adventure, igniting her wanderlust and sparking the idea for Bored George. It was during her travels across Europe that her love affair with sunglasses blossomed, setting the stage for her entrepreneurial venture.

Through sheer determination and creative flair, Georgia transformed Bored George from a side hustle into a powerhouse brand. With a keen eye for market trends and a knack for design, she propelled her fashion-forward sunglasses into over 90 stockists across New Zealand and Australia, cementing her status as a game-changer in the industry.

But Georgia’s influence extends beyond fashion; she’s become a voice for empowerment and entrepreneurship, inspiring others to chase their dreams fearlessly. As she continues to expand her business and share her insights, Georgia proves that with passion and perseverance, anything is possible.

We asked Georgia a few questions to find out more about her…

1. You, in three words? I asked my boyfriend who is sitting next to me to describe me in three words, he said. Direct. Driven. Bubbly.

2. Your job title? Director & Designer

3. Your very first job? Paper run around our neighbourhood

4. Childhood dream job? I wanted to be a hair dresser!

5. The backstory of Bored George? After returning from the UK in my early 20’s (which i did instead of university and is where my passion for glasses began) i was working an office job and became bored very quickly. So I decided to start my own sunglass brand- fusing my love of sunnies while in Europe with my boredom. It started as a side hustle and now I’m stocked in nearly 100 stores across NZ and Australia.

6. What brightens your day? Seeing my two orange cats Moose and Perry when I get home from work, oh and my partner xx

7. Three must-haves in your life? The TV show Friends, podcasts, reformer Pilates.

8. Favourite escape spot? Our cosy little Bach in Waiwera.

9. How do you unwind? I like to go for long walks with a good podcast, and curl up on the coach with a good trashy tv show like Love Island.

10. Coffee or tea? Coffee, but decaf always.



11. Ideal vacation destination?
Both my partner and I would love to go to Hawaii, however we are only just taking our first trip away together this month to Rarotonga, so Hawaii will be for sometime in the future.

12. Favourite fashion trend? Business chic – this includes dress pants and blazers, a more polished look for day-to-day wear.

13. Style icon? Miss Hayley Beiber (of course), when does she not inspire in the fashion world! (Or maybe it’s her stylist we should all be gushing about)?

14. Go-to outfit? Dress pants, singlet and a blazer, with a fresh white sneaker.

15. Beauty routine must-haves? I stick to the classics, no matter how many foundations I try, I revert back to the Revlon Colourstay Longwear foundation, it is perfect for my skin type and give me a light coverage glowy finish. I also couldn’t live without my Peachy Lip Co lip and cheek tints, it’s such an easy versatile product for when on the run!

16. Favourite skincare product? The Jeunora face polish is one of my favourite scrubs.

17. Daily exercise routine? I try to go for a 4km walk outside everyday, and alternate between a Reformer Pilates class or quick 30 min at home workout. However some weeks do get the better of me and exercise is the first thing to slip through the cracks! I recently bought an under desk walking pad, and am super keen to see how this goes!

18. Favourite workout? Reformer Pilates, no contestant!

19. Guilty pleasure food? Chip and Dip, specifically a ready slated thick chip, with a kiwi dip.

20. Favourite cuisine? Probably Thai, but I also love Japanese.

21. Best way to spend a Sunday? Coffee catch up with friends followed by an afternoon on the couch with a trashy tv show.

22. Last show you binge-watched? One Day, and like most people out there it got me good! I sobbed for a good two episodes.

23. Favourite movie genre? Rom-cons always!

24. Proudest accomplishment? Going full time on my own business and seeing it grow the way it has.

25. Most memorable career moment? Leaving my 9-5 to go full time into Bored.George.
