HERE ARE SOME RESOLUTIONS OR ‘SKINOLUTIONS’ TO IMPLEMENT IN THE NEW YEAR TO SET YOURSELF UP FOR THE BEST SKIN YEAR YET.
Cosmetic Physician and bellamumma contributor, Dr Phoebe Jones, shares how we don’t need to focus what we need to cut out or stop doing, but instead, keep it positive and focus on behaviours and habits we can add-in…


1. I will not leave the house without sunscreen on my face and neck. Make sure it has good UVA coverage.

2. I will wash my face free of makeup and daily grime every evening.

3. I will drink a minimum of 2L water every day.

4. I will drink bone broth or take a collagen supplement each day.

5. I will use a topical exfoliant underneath my moisturizer at night. Eg. Aha, BHA or retinol.

6. I will invest in going for a monthly facial or laser treatment.

7. I will include healthy fats, protein and greens with every meal.

8. I will dry brush my body for a few minutes each morning.

9. I will remember to wear a hat and take an umbrella or cabana on the beach. Life is to be enjoyed, but we need to damage control and protect ourselves from skin cancer, photoaging and pigmentation.

10. I will include a lot of micronutrients in my diet through colourful fruit, veggies and herbs. I’ll step this up and will take a Spirulina or green powder supplement.

11. I will take a weekly relaxing bath with a face mask on.

12. I will aim for 9-10 hours in bed a night for sleep and relaxation. They don’t call it beauty sleep for no reason!
