Carly Brown, the founder of UNE PIECE, lives by the mantra “Life is Beautiful”. She launched UNE PIECE, the Original Sexie Rashie with a single-minded passion to empower women to feel beautiful by the water, and she has totally done that. Now, her brand is Australia’s newest swimwear icon redefining sophistication by the water. Crafted from high-quality Italian fabric and designed to flatter and inspire confidence, it’s the must-have for summer. As you can see Carly is also totally beautiful, which is why we asked her to share her beauty secrets:
What’s the best beauty advice you’ve ever been given or have discovered? Keep things as natural as possible. Love what you have been given and don’t wish for what you don’t have. Take care of the things you can control naturally – healthy hair, teeth, nails, skin.
I was lucky enough to work for Revlon in London where I was head of Brand Marketing and Communications for three years – so in that time I was surrounded by the beauty industry every day. I learnt a lot. But I also learnt that it’s important to be true to yourself when it comes to beauty and not to use it to hide yourself but rather to empower yourself.
What are your can’t live-without beauty products?
MAC BB Cream with SPF; Estee Lauder moisturiser; Nars Laguna Bronzer; Chanel Mascara; Revlon Classic Nail Enamel: Diptyqe Fragrance – Olene; and Aesop everything
What’s your best time-saving beauty tip? Batiste Dry Shampoo – it’s not the most expensive but it is the best! Also hot rollers (like a Nanna! Save on time and save your hair from the blowdryer!)
Any beauty disasters? Haha – yes – when I interviewed at Revlon I had NO IDEA how to put makeup on. Bless them they must have giggled at what I was wearing. But after three years at Revlon leading the Brand Marketing team for UK and EU and working with Gucci Westman and some of the best people in the business I’ve learnt a few tricks of the trade.
Fave beauty icon? Audrey Hepburn
Fave beauty look? French/ Parisien Women – ie Healthy, clear, skin with a tinted moisturiser (and SPF!), beautiful blow dried hair, neutral nails, classic eyeliner, a beautiful either neutral or classic red lip! Natural beauty. I love how French women don’t overcomplicate things. They keep it simple and just take care of their natural assets.
