copy cat her hair: THE LAZY-GIRL CHIGNON

Deborah Grevett

WE ARE TOTALLY LOVING THESE LAID-BACK MESSY KNOTS AND TWISTS
Deborah from Papillon hair gives her copy-cat instructions so you can create them at home and still appear pulled-together and stylish. Here’s how:

COPY THE LOOK: Spray dry shampoo on to hair to absorb excess oil, then pull hair into a low, messy side bun, securing with an elastic and bobby pins. Tease crown section with a comb and sweep bangs or front layers across the forehead and tuck behind the ear.

COPY THE LOOK: Prep hair with a volumiser to achieve volume and texture. Blow-dry the front section with a round brush, leaving natural movement in the ends. Gather into a pony at the nape and create a loose knot. Once the chignon is secured, separate with fingers while using bobby pins to secure pieces of hair where desired. Finish with a veil of hairspray.

COPY THE LOOK: Pull the hair back into a low ponytail and roughly twist down to loop the hair into a low knot. To make the hair look as natural as possible, leave out two inches toward the end of the twist so it sticks out on the right side. Finish by misting with hairspray to keep in place.

COPY THE LOOK: Prep hair with thickening lotion and blow dry hair straight. Pull strands into a low ponytail at the nape of the neck and secure with an elastic holder. Taking the end of the pony, pull hair up and over the base to make a loop, leaving hair to fan out the sides and top.
