Stubbins, who is also a herbalist, aromatherapist and beauty therapist, has put her expertise and flower knowledge together to create these healing floral waters which you can re-create at home…
* Lavender and myrrh healing toner
A healing, antiseptic and gentle astringent for oily blemished skin.
DIY: Mix 1.5 (30 drops) myrrh tincture with100ml lavender water and store in a clean bottle.
* Gentle rose tonic
A calming and soothing freshener for sensitive or irritated skin.
DIY: Mix two drops blue chamomile essential oil with 10 drops essential oil solubiliser. Add 85ml rosewater and 15ml aloe vera juice. Pour into in a clean bottle, shake well and store in the fridge.
* Flower and juice skin toner
A soothing and cooling toner for sensitive and combination skin.
DIY: Mix together 80ml orange flower water and 20ml aloe vera juice. Store in a clean bottle and keep in the fridge.
* Pure rose skin liquid
A hydrating skin tonic for dry and mature skins.
DIY: Add five drops of rose absolute to 10 drops essential oil solubiliser. Add 100ml rosewater and shake to disperse the ingredients. Store in a clean bottle.

rose: Rose oil has excellent hydrating, softening and emollient properties which are ideal for dry, sensitive and aging skins. It also has the ability to work as a tonic and astringent on broken capillaries, whilst reducing redness and inflammation to the skin.
jasmine: This sweet smelling flower is exceptional in skincare, especially in winter when skin can become dry, due to the weather and heating. Just a few drops of jasmine oil will make skin feel totally blissful.
chamomile: Chamomile is soothing, calming and anti-inflammatory whether it’s used in skin preparations or sipped as herbal tea. Chamomile is also valuable in treating skin problems such as flaky, dry, itching skin, especially eczema, dermatitis, or even psoriasis problems.
geranium: Geranium oil has been widely used in the cosmetic industry, not just for its aroma, but also for its balancing effect on the production of sebum, making it perfect for oily or dry skin.
lavender: Lavender is useful in treating skin conditions like eczema, dermatitis, and has been successful in soothing, and healing burns, with its antiseptic and analgesic properties.
calendula: The calendula flower blossom is well known for its anti-inflammatory wound healing properties. The oil extracts, flavanoids, and saponins are the key constituents in aiding skin repair and promote healing.

“Giving flowers is a way of conveying how you feel about someone and the emotion that you associate with them,” Saskia Havekes owner of Grandiflora. “Sending flowers can make someone feel special and show that you have made a concerted effort to show that you care.
