* Avoid exfoliants that contain crushed nuts that are jagged as they can cause tiny lacerations in the skin, making your skin vulnerable to infection. Instead, look for a product that contains spherical beads or natural fruit enzymes like pumpkin, papaya, and pineapple to dissolve dead skin cells gently.
* For a citrusy boost without spending a cent, simply squirt a little lemon juice into your cleanser to enhance its peeling power. Lemon juice contains citric acid, one of the five alpha hydroxy acids that dissolve the glue keeping dead cells stuck to your skin.
* And remember you should only exfoliate one to three times a week {depending on your skin’s oiliness} at the end of your shower when your pores have been steamed open.
