YOUR {HEALTHY} BEDROOM

healthy bedroom

YOU SPEND ONE-THIRD OF YOUR LIFE IN YOUR BEDROOM…

SO, with that in mind, here are some ways to keep your bedroom enviro/you-friendly and allergy-free…

* If possible, invest in a quality mattress of latex foam, cotton, or wool batting. {We’re loving Sleeping Duck mattresses – they’re so goo they come with a 100 night guarantee!}

* Replace synthetic pillows with wool or cotton filling, and look for unbleached, untreated linens.

* Keep your bedroom well dusted and vacuumed – that includes vacuuming the mattress. Wash curtains as well as bedding.

* Wash sheets – and air doonas and pillows – weekly.

* Try to use an air purifier to reduce dust and pollen. (It can also double as a white-noise machine, blocking out bothersome bumps and woofs in the night.)

* Use a humidifier in winter to fight scratchy skin and respiratory ailments; and a dehumidifier in summer, when heat makes it hard to sleep.

* Use un-scented and environmentally friendly cleaning products – instead of harsh-smelling cleaning supplies―like ammonia and bleach―and highly scented detergents.

{We also love ENJO‘s chemical-free philosophy and cleaning products!}
