ANSWERS:

See how you went:
1. FALSE: Putting oil on your hair and going in the sun will simply fry it! Wear a hat instead.
2. FALSE: If you brush too hard, or too much, you can actually cause damage. The idea behind the 100 strokes was to distribute oil through the hair, but it happens naturally.
3. FALSE: Blow-drying can dehydrate your hair, but unless you’re pulling pretty hard, it’s not going to make it thinner.
4. TRUE: If you use a mild shampoo, it’s totally okay.
5. FALSE: Vitamins are essential for healthy looking hair, but unfortunately they won’t make it grow any faster.
6. FALSE: Your hair follicle can only produce one strand of hair, so plucking it out wont cause two to grow back. That being said it still isn’t a good idea to go pulling out your grey hairs. Plucking can damage your hair follicle and can cause you to form a bald spot there. (We all have our own eyebrow plucking stories!) Also, grey hair can start growing in a different texture. So what can start as a small pigment problem, can turn into a thick, coarse, white monster!
7. FALSE: Trimming the ends of your hair in no way affects to growth from your scalp. The reason trims are still necessary is to keep your split ends under control. Once your ends start splitting up the hair shaft, they won’t stop. So if you skip a trim for two years, you will get your length but your hair will be a hot mess. The best thing to do is consultate with your stylist and make a plan for when you need to trim.
8. TRUE: When you wrap your hair up in the same spot, everyday it takes its toll. The best thing to do is play with different positioning! So if you do a top knot one day, try a low pony the next day, then do a side braid the next, etc. Keeping your style ever-changing is great for your hair and it’s a great way to not get bored with your look.
9. FALSE: The temperature of the water in no way affects your cuticle. It’s all about the ph level and temperature doesn’t change that. Conditioner is the only things to help close that cuticle down. So it’s important to use, even if you are just using a leave-in conditioner after your shower.
10. FALSE: Your shampoo and conditioner won’t stop working. The reason this myth kinda has ‘legs’ is because when you use something long enough, it tends to loose that WOW factor. We just get bored and need to be swept off our feet again. Another think to take into account, you always use the right products for your hair, so if you’re using a volumising line, then you colour your hair, you’ll need to change products accordingly.
